Mary Jeffries (Beech) Spragg, 88, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania, formerly of Delaware Park, Lapatcong Township, New Jersey, died Friday, August 12, 2016 at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. Born on February 5, 1928 in Staffordshire, England, she was the daughter of the late John Beech and Harriet (Jeffries) Beech.
In 1952, Mary emigrated to the United States and married Robert Spragg of Cheshire, England, on November 15, 1952. She became a US Citizen in 1964. Mary worked at Easton National Bank in the 1950's and then after rearing 2 children, worked as the Secretary of the Geology Department at Lafayette College, Easton. She worked there from 1978, until her retirement in 1992. She was also an active church member throughout her life. She was a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder First, at Pigrim Presbyterian Church, Phillipsburg, NJ, and in later years, at College Hill Presbyterian Church, Easton.
Survivors: Husband, Robert. Daughter, Tracey Jeffries Spragg wife of Gary Israel of Mill Valley, California. Son, Robert J. Spragg and wife Marianita Meyer of New York City, NY. 2 Granddaughters, Hannah Spragg Israel, and Charlotte Jeffries Israel. She was predeceased by twin sisters, Joy Beech and Ethel "Hetty" Welty, cousin Eva "Peggy" Osmun, and her brother, J.J. "Jack" Beech.
Services: Memorial Services at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 18, 2016, at College Hill Presbyterian Church, 501 Brodhead Street, Easton, PA 18042. Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday in the church. Private Interment.
Arrangements are by Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, Nazareth, PA.
