Mary M. Schaffer

Mary M. Schaffer , 86, of Lower Nazareth Township, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township. Born July 19, 1938, in Palmerton, Mary was wife of the late Richard J. Schaffer and the daughter of the late Jose Silva and Maria (da Graca Diogo) Monteiro.

She worked for Matthews Hallmark, Bethlehem, for fifteen years before retiring in 2000.  Prior to that she worked for Western Electric.

She is survived by daughter, Lori A. (Richard) Piacenti of Allentown, son, Richard K. of California; brothers, Adelino J. of Georgia (predeceased by wife Dorothy), Joseph (Anne Marie) of Connecticut; sister, Grace (Donald) Smith of Palmerton; grandchildren Erin, Natalie, Nicholas; great granddaughter, Myla Alani, and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Family and friends will be received from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church (23 Forrest Dr. Nazareth). Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Lower Nazareth Township.
