Mary Ann (Bonni) Raynor passed away at the age of 80 on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Mary Ann was born in Northampton, PA during Orthodox Easter and was promptly nicknamed Bunny by her father Wallace and mother Helen (Olexa) Vasilawsky. She married Willard O. Raynor (Bill) on Oct 31, 1964 in Northampton, PA. She was a loving mother to her son and daughter, Charles and Andrea.
Bonni had many interests. Early in her life, she was a lifeguard and honors student. She attended Bucknell University where she majored in English and was on the dean's list. She was known for her quick wit and somewhat dark sense of humor. She met Bill Raynor at Bucknell University. They were married for 58 years. Early in their marriage, she was an English teacher in Washington, NJ. Later, Bill served in U.S. Army at Ft Hamilton, Brooklyn NY and Bonni worked as a Social Worker for the City of New York. They moved to Newtown CT in 1969. She was president of the League of Women Voters and served in local politics. She was also active in the local Ukrainian Orthodox church as secretary. They moved to Worthington, MA in 1982 where they spent many years enjoying the Berkshires, especially in the summer. Bonni received her Master's Degree in Social Work while working as Human Resources Manager at Berkshire Life in Pittsfield. Under the leadership of Joan McFalls at Berkshire Life, she was integral in creating the first in house employee childcare center that served many companies in the area. She also worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children.
Wisely, Bill and Bonni decided to retire early and spend their time traveling. They traveled together around the world with highlights in China, Egypt and Ukraine. They moved to Bradenton, Florida in 2006 and in 2019, they moved to Rhode Island to be closer to their children.
Bonni's health was a profound challenge for several years. Her family was very grateful to be able keep her home with the help of family and dedicated caregivers. Bonni is survived by her husband Bill and their two children, Charles, Andrea and son in law, Charlie.
