Mary Sarah "Sally" Sakala

Mary Sarah "Sally" Sakala , aka Sally McFadden - D'Amore, 89 of Allentown, PA, formerly of Laury's Station, PA passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Phoebe Home Health Care Center in Allentown, PA. Born December 29, 1935 in Allentown, PA, she was the daughter of the late James B. McFadden and the late Isabel M. (Holland) McFadden.

Sally was a 1953 William Allen High School graduate. While at Allen she was a head Majorette and played various sports, including Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Aquacade, and Tumbling.  Her Year Book caption description included "livens up parties and dances". Sally furthered her education and earned an Associate's degree in 1955 from the prestigious Katherine Gibbs School. Sally was last self employed as a Title Agent, owning and operating LandSearch & Settlement Co., Bethlehem, PA before retiring in 1998. Prior to that she worked as a paralegal and accountant for several years. Prior to that she worked as an Executive Secretary for Air Products, Allentown, PA. Sally was an accomplished Bridge player achieving the status of American Contract Bridge Life Master in 1983. She was an avid golfer and a beloved member of the Pocono Farms Country Club and the Ladies League for over 30 years.  She played in various leagues and tournaments until the age of 87. Sally loved to travel and ventured around the world, living in Germany for 5 years in the 1960's.  Sally was of the Catholic faith.

Sally is survived by her daughters, Donna D'Amore and wife Suzy Armbruster of Laurys Station, PA and Catherine D'Amore of Orefield, PA; brother, Robert M. McFadden (Maryann) of W. Palm Beach, FL, 4 grandchildren; Renee' D'Amore and Steven, Vanessa, and Luke Clerico, 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph K. D'Amore, sister Catherine Powell, and brothers John "Jack" and James McFadden.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM Friday May 30, 2025 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA. 18067. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
