Mary Ann Sterner

Mary Ann Sterner, 86 of New Market, Virginia formerly of Whitehall, PA passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA., Born April 9, 1935 in Lehighton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Gillette and the late Mary (Cherowich) Gillette. She was the wife of Robert W. Sterner with whom she shared 64 years of marriage this past May 11, 2021.

Mary Ann was last employed by Robert Turko Ins, Allentown, PA as a secretary for 30 years before retiring in 2005. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall where she served as a choir member for years.

Surviving along with her husband Robert are sons, Jeffrey H. Sterner and wife Jeannie of New Market, VA, James R. Sterner of Bethlehem, PA, daughter, Kathleen M. wife of Daniel Kotran of Whitehall, PA, brothers, Joseph Gillette of Catasauqua, PA, Peter Gillette and wife Estelle of Houston, TX, Paul Gillette of Northampton, PA, Timothy Gillette and wife LaFerne of Acwoth, GA and Anthony Gillette of Northampton, PA, sisters, Mrs. Agnes Berg of Whitehall, PA, Mrs. Elizabeth Arey of Catasauqua, PA, Angela wife of Oliver Resh of Whitehall, PA, Therese Gillette of Bethlehem, PA, and Margaret Rawson of Whitehall, PA. 4 Grandsons; Daniel, Christopher, Robbie, and William and 3 great grandsons, Wyatt, Fynn, and Colsin. She was predeceased by brothers, John, Christopher, and Edward.

Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA, has been entrusted with her arrangements and care.Future Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Cemetery, Annville, PA.
