Maryann Kathleen Weaver, 86, of Northampton, PA, passed away peacefully in hospice care at Sacred Heart Senior Living by the Creek, on January 23, 2026. She was the wife of the late Harry E. Weaver, Jr who passed away December 15, 2004. Maryann was born on October 20, 1939, in Cementon, PA to the late John M. Bednarcik, Jr and

Mary (Zadzora) Bednarcik. Maryann attended Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVM), Northampton, grade school and graduated from Central Catholic High School, Allentown, in 1957. She then worked as an executive secretary for the Trojan Powder Company, Allentown, while also working at the Bednarcik family business, the Valley Hotel in Cementon. After marrying Harry and raising their young children, she began working at Moravian College in 1988, first as the secretary of the Student Services Center and then secretary of the Economics & Business Department. In 2002, she retired to be the full-time caregiver to Harry. She was known by so many as being a helpful, caring, and selfless person with a wonderful sense of humor. When you stopped by her home, always decorated for the season, she had a cup of coffee, a crossword puzzle, and a pile of books nearby. Maryann was an avid gardener, canning everything from tomatoes to strawberry jam. She had many buttons, zippers, and patches at the ready to mend your clothing and knitted many scarves for friends and family. She loved baking, expertly decorating cakes for many special occasions and making many varieties of Christmas cookies. Maryann proudly played the organ at Assumption BVM, most memorably for the CCD youth choir. She was a Sunday morning mass greeter for many years. She often volunteered her time and talents, especially for the yearly parish picnic. She served Cub Scout Pack 40, Kreidersville, as Den Mother for Den 6, Treasurer, and Committee Member between 1980-1984. She also volunteered in her children’s elementary school and attended countless sporting events, quietly supporting her kids. Maryann was a consistent blood donor at Miller-Keystone Blood Center and proudly reached the seven-gallon giving milestone. She enjoyed vacationing with her family in Killington and Woodstock, VT, as well as Shawnee on the Delaware, PA.

Maryann is survived by her children, son Mark H. Weaver with wife Christina of North Catasauqua, son Brian J. Weaver of Nazareth, and daughter Audrey M. Sparks with husband Christopher of Pottstown. Siblings Bernadette Fegely of Atlanta, GA, Robert Bednarcik of Walnutport, and Dennis Bednarcik with wife Deb of Northampton. Grandchildren Amber and Colin Weaver, David Stimmel, Natalie and Megan Sparks. Nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
