Matilda Scharl, 98 of Allentown, formerly of Whitehall, PA. died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at ManorCare Health Services- Allentown. Born December 7, 1917 in Whitehall-Cementon, PA. she was the daughter of the late August Scharl, Sr. and Mary (Szimitz) Scharl.
Matilda worked for the Jeras Corp., Allentown working as a farm hand on the Farm in South Whitehall Twsp. for over 50 years before retiring in 1980. She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, PA.
She is survived by a sister, Arlene wife of Ray Gogel of Whitehall, PA. She was predeceased by brothers, August "Jake", Jr. and Joseph, and 2 sisters, Mary Torba and Ida Gontar.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday November 15, 2016 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue Northampton, PA. 18067 with the Rev. Michael J. Bodnyk officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park, Whitehall, PA.
