Megan Lynn Newhart

Megan Lynn Newhart , 36, of Palmerton, PA, passed away far too soon on Monday, August 18, 2025. Born in Allentown on February 22, 1989, Megan was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar A. Newhart and Lori (Creamer) Newhart-Costello.

A 2007 graduate of Palmerton High School, Megan went on to earn her Dental Hygienist Certification from Northampton Community College in 2011. For more than a decade, she shared her skills and her heart with patients, most recently at Next Chapter Smiles in Bethlehem. She got as many extra certifications as she could without being a dentist. Beyond her career, Megan volunteered her time providing free dental cleanings at schools and free clinics, feeding people in need for thanksgiving and always an animal shelter visit. Always eager to help others.
Megan's proudest role was being a mother. She was devoted to her children, cheering them on in every sport and milestone. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering. Those who knew Megan will remember her as compassionate and strong. Her warmth and smile touched everyone around her.

Survivors: Megan is survived by her mother and stepfather, Lori Newhart-Costello and Joseph Simmons; her children, Leonard Drummond III and Leddie L. Drummond; her sister, Katelyn A. Newhart-Hantz and husband Kristofer; her brother, Tanner J. Costello, Shania Bittner; her nephew, Rush A. Hantz, all of Lehighton and her grandmother, Barbara Newhart of Whitehall. She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar A. Newhart.

Memorial Services will be held on September 2, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 PM until time of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
