Melvin C. Ahner, 75, of Long Run Road, Lehighton, Franklin Township, Pennsylvania, died peacefully Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017, in his home.  He was the husband of Jane M. (Kreiser) Ahner since March 31, 1962.  Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late Harvey T., Sr. and Mary F.I. (Alkire) Ahner.

Melvin was employed by the former Corsen Quarry, Plymouth Meeting, as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years, retiring in 2006.  He was a member of the former Long Run Lutheran Church, Franklin Township, and the Franklin Township Fire Police.

Survivors: Wife, Jane. Son, Keith C. and wife Vera E. of Bowmanstown.  Daughter-in-laws, Jennifer Ahner of Rapid City, South Dakota, Darlene R. Ahner of Bowmanstown.  13 grandchildren.  1 great-granddaughter, Ciara.  Sisters, Gladys wife of Marvin Ivory, twin sister, Melba Kunkle, Joan all of Franklin Township, Mary Lou of Maine.  Brother, Gary of Florida.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sons, Rodney A. in August 2016, Dennis N. in January, brothers, Harvey Jr., Robert, and Charlie, Sister, Margaret Mase.
