Mercedes A. Franco,
6, of Hazleton, Luzerne County, and Palmerton, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, died suddenly Tuesday evening, October 23, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital, Palmerton Campus. Born in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of Ignacio Franco, Jr., of Hazleton, and Alyssa A. Ahner of Palmerton.
Mercedes was a kindergarten student at Western Salisbury Elementary School. An active child, she loved watching movies and spending time with her siblings.
Survivors:
Parents, Ignacio and Alyssa. Step-father, Manuel Aponte of Palmerton. Paternal grandparents, Ignacio Franco, Sr. of NJ, and Evelyn Colon of NY. Maternal grandparents, Dale Ahner of Weissport, and Lisa J. (Mowery) wife of Robert Jerdon, Sr. of Nazareth. Sister, Mia Aponte at home. Brothers, Christian Cauchi-Franco of Hazleton, Brandon Cauchi-Franco of Freeland, Joshua Aponte of Allentown, Marcus Aponte of Meadville, PA, and Jeremiah Aponte at home. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
