Michael Dankanich , 73, of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, PA, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, September 20, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Pamela L. (Kern) Dankanich since February 15, 1969. Born in Hazleton, Luzerne County, he was a son of the late Michael and Ann (Malik) Dankanich.
Mike was employed in the maintenance department of the former Palmerton Hospital until retiring. Previously, he worked as a mason for the former NJ Zinc Co., Palmerton, and also in the same capacity for Solt Refractory Co., Bowmanstown. Mike attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palmerton. He was a 1967 graduate of the Palmerton High School, and life member of Slatington Hose Co. #1. He was a member of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club. Mike enjoyed cooking, woodworking, handyman jobs, repairing clocks, hunting, fishing, clamming, gardening, and spending family time at Bethany Beach, DE. Mike loved spending time in his workshop. He was an easygoing man with a kind and humble nature. Mike was loved by everyone who knew him. Dad/Pap/Uncle Mike will be terribly missed by all.
Survivors: Wife. Daughters, Denise M. wife of Barry L. Behler, Jr., and Michele L. wife of James Dailey, all of Palmerton. 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Jared, Erin, Elizabeth, and Emily. 2 great-granddaughters, Liah, and Addison. Sister, Ann Marie wife of Dennis Haydt of Palmerton. Several nieces and nephews.
