Milton D. Solt, Sr.

Milton D. Solt, Sr., 94, of Craig Street, Bowmanstown, PA, died peacefully early Monday morning, February 6, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Lehighton.  He was the husband of Mable M. (Strohl) Solt, who passed in 2012.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Mary M. (Behler) Solt.

Milton was employed as a truck driver by Ryder PIE Co., Bath, until retiring.  Previously, he worked in the same capacity for the former Matlack Trucking Co., and MTS Trucking Co., both of Northampton.  A 1946 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he later served in the Army as a combat medic, Korea, achieving the rank of Cpl.  Milton was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bowmanstown.  He enjoyed black powder firearms and wine-making and supplied the church communion wine for many years.

Survivors: Son, Milton D., Jr. and wife Sandra of Bowmanstown.  Granddaughter, Michelle M. Solt of Bowmanstown. Sisters, Lilly wife of Lloyd Miller of Palmerton, and Pauline Brown of Lower Towamensing Twp. Numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by sister, Viola Malory, and brothers, Oliver, Clark, John, Irvin, Wilson, and James Behler.
