Heaven's choir has a new angelic soprano voice - Miriam L. Nachesty, 87, of Northampton, PA, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Born May 30, 1934 in Bath, PA, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Flossie Heller.

She was the loving wife of the late Carl Nachesty for 61 years.

Miriam was a devoted and loving wife and mother all of her life, caring for her family. She could also be found working alongside her husband in their family business - Chip's Lunch.

Miriam was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Northampton, where she was a senior choir member for many years and enjoyed the youth choir as their choir director. Singing was her God given talent and she thoroughly enjoyed singing with the Lehigh University Choral Union, Camerata Singers, and the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. She was also a member of the Northampton and Cherryville Senior Centers.

Miriam's love for everyone she met was evident in the way she related to people and lived her life. She was always the first one to engage in conversation, wanted to know people's names, always had a kind, compassionate, understanding heart and put a smile on everyone's face. She was fun-loving, rarin'-to-go, with zeal for life. It was evident that her strength and comfort came from her deep belief in Our Lord. Her cherished memory will live forever in our hearts.

Miriam's immediate family included her husband, Carl, her daughters Tammy, Mary Hittinger (Kevin), Beth Dax (Christopher) and Lisa, Grandchildren (Amara, Jessie, Josh, Jen, and Jacqueline), Great-Grandchildren (Jacob, Zane, Bowen, and Alexander). Siblings included Catherine Hahn, Donald Heller, Caroline Struss, and Charlotte Herman.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 105 E. 19the Street, Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. David R. Schnaars officiating.
