Muriel C. Diefenderfer, 91 of Bath, PA. died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born August 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude (LeFevre) McCafferty. She was the wife of Richard M. Diefenderfer who passed away in January 2013.
Muriel was a self-employed Hotelier who co-owned and operated the former Bath Hotel with her husband for 45 years before retiring in 2005. She also worked several years as a Tele typist at the Morning call, Allentown.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon A. wife of Guy Tamandl of Bath, PA, sister, Lois wife of Charles Harris of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandsons.
A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday January 5, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue Northampton, PA. 18067. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA.
