Muriel "Judy" V. Gorczyca , 98, formerly of Little Gap Road, Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, PA, died peacefully early Thursday morning, December 18, 2025, at the Mahoning Post Acute and Rehabilitation, Lehighton. She was the wife of the late Adam L. Gorczyca who passed in 1990. Born in Franklin, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Muriel (Weitzel) Seip.
Judy graduated from Mt. Holyoke College with a bachelor degree in chemistry and an associate degree in biology. She worked at Cornell Medical Center, NYC, as a laboratory technician in biomedical research. After marrying Adam in 1952, she lived in Tamarac, NJ, before they relocated to the Palmerton area. Judy later worked at Blue Mountain Ski Area, Palmerton (Formerly Little Gap Ski Area) from 1977 until retiring 2012. Judy enjoyed preparing home cooked meals with vegetables from her garden, taking long walks, golfing, and skiing. She volunteered to create the first library at Sacred Heart School, Palmerton (St. John Neumann Parochial School), and was active with the former Palmerton Hospital Festival selling flowers at the garden stand.
Survivors : Daughter, Ann wife of Paul Steinmetz of Lehighton. Grandchildren, Matthew Steinmetz of Palmerton, Bryana Steinmetz and companion Mike Kern of Palmerton, and Adam Gorczyca of Bethlehem. Great-grandchildren, Makayla Smale and companion Ethan Evans of Summit Hill, Marissa Meixsell of Hawaii, Matthew Heller of Allentown, and Connor Steinmetz of Palmerton. Nieces, Rebecca A. Seip, Kathleen R. Seip, Meredith Lein-Vreeland (David), Margi Gorczyca, Rev. Carol Elizabeth Svecz, C. Jeanne Wilson, and Andrea G. Williams. Nephews, Jonathan Lein (Bev), Robert H. Seip (Elizabeth), and Dr. David Lein. She was predeceased by son, Adam D. Gorczyca in 2019, grandson, Gregory P. Steinmetz in 2024, sisters, Patricia Lein, Doris Dalrymple, brother, Robert Seip, and nieces, Clairli Thrower, and Elisabeth Godbey.
Services: Memorial Services, 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home.
