Norman H. Gundrum

Norman Gundrum, born September 4, 1940, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 28, 2026.

Norman lived a full and faithful life rooted in love for God, family, country, and community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Mae (Wesner); his brother, Bobby; and his sisters, Jean (Cook) and Jane (Humbert). He leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, Lorraine (Baer); his sons, Andrew (MaryJo) and David (Karen); his brothers, Bill and George; his sister, Ruthann (Eyer); his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Emily, Jonah, Emma, Grace, and Olivia; and his great-grandchildren, Elliana and Ayla.

A graduate of Fleetwood High School, Norman proudly served in the United States Air Force before returning home to build a life marked by hard work, integrity, and devotion to others. He was a trusted realtor, a beloved hog farmer, and a faithful member of his church where for many years, he could be found serving coffee and sharing conversation, always ready with a kind word, a warm smile, and a generous heart.

Norman touched the lives of many-clients, neighbors, friends, and all those fortunate enough to cross his path. He was known for his humor, humility, kindness, and steady presence. Of all the roles he carried in life, his favorites were being a husband to Lorraine and “Pop-pop” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with his family and found great joy in watching them grow.

He loved boxing, growing sweet corn, John Deere tractors, playing cards with his siblings, and humming along to country music, and especially his favorite song, Jesus Loves Me. His wisdom, whether offered about baling hay, fixing lawn mowers, shopping for a better interest rate or finding the perfect fishing spot, will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him.

Norman leaves behind a lasting legacy of generosity, perseverance, hard work, and faith. Though he will be deeply missed, his life and example will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of Norman’s life will take place on Saturday, August 1 at Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville PA. Visitation 9:30 am - 11:30 am, with service of remembrance immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bethany Wesleyan Church Benevolence Fund or Tunnels to Towers, both in care of the Schisler Funeral Home 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
