Norman J. Kern, 62 of Northampton, PA passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018, after a valiant battle with
Frontotemporal Dementia at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown, PA. Born on December 14, 1956 in Allentown,
he was the son of the late Charles G. Kern, Sr. and the late Evelyn (Pettersen) Kern. He was the husband of Gloria
J. (Souilliard) Kern with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage this past February 28, 2018.

Norman was last employed by Northampton Area School District as a Custodian for 14 years before retiring in 2013.
Prior to that he worked at Harhart's Service Station, Northampton as a mechanic for 8 years. Before that he worked
as a Parts Manager at both Bennet Chevy / Toyota and Key Pontiac, Bethlehem for 13 years. He was a member of
Hope Lutheran Church in Cherryville. Norman was a long time member of Mopar Madness of the Lehigh Valley. He
had a passion for cars and enjoyed restoring them.

Surviving along with his wife Gloria are sons, Joel N. Kern of N. Bay, Canada, Douglas J. Kern and wife Mindy of
Pottstown, PA and Glenn S. Kern and wife Melissa of Ephrata, PA, brothers, Charles G. Kern, Jr. and wife Elaine of
Northampton, PA and Ronald A. Kern and wife Cristine of Marlborough, CT; 6 Grandchildren: Jakob, Bailey, Ayden,
Teagan, Chloe, and Lucas.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119
Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067, with the Rev. Jamie Possinger officiating. The family will receive
friends Wednesday December 19, 2018 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Thursday December 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM
to 11:00 AM prior to the services both at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church Memorial fund or University of Penn
Frontotemporal Dementia Research both C/O the funeral home.
