Norwood "Woody" E. George, Sr., 90, of Kuehner Drive, Eldred Township, Kunkletown, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, formerly of Little Gap, Lower Towamensing Township, died early Friday evening, August 25. 2017, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.  He was the husband of the late Christiana S. (Kocher) George who passed in 2011.  Born in Kunkletown, he was a son of the late Perry W. and Miriam (Green) George.

Woody was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, in the foundry, as a truck driver, and in the mail room, retiring in 1987, after 43 years of service.  He attended Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville.  An avid Sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, fox hunting with his hounds, gardening, camping, and NASCAR.  Woody was a life member of the Kunkletown Rod and Gun Club, former member of Spruce Hollow Hunting Farms, Kunkletown, and the Palmerton Ambulance Corps.

Survivors: Daughter, Goldie G. wife of Randy Wiese of Kunkletown.  Son, Woody, Jr. of Kunkletown.  Stepdaughters, Nancy wife of Robert Shupp of Bowmanstown, and, Joan wife of Richard Hartman of Walnutport. Stepsons, Ronald and wife Jean Edelman of Northampton, and, Barry Miller of Palmerton.  21 grandchildren.  Sister, Goldie Hagenbuch of Kunkletown.  Brother, Walter George of Palmerton.  Several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by stepson, Henry Miller, sister, Dolly Greenzweig, and brothers, Wilmer, Clark, and Lee.

Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the funeral home.  Officiating will be the Rev. Brian R. Holben.  Interment will follow at Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery, Trachsville, Towamensing Township.  Online Condolences may be left at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com
