Pastor James S. Grimes

Pastor James S. Grimes, 66 of Plainfield Township, passed away on April 21, 2020, at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. Born January 22, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Lila V. (Troyer) Grimes. He and his wife, Susan K. (Werkheiser) Grimes were married on May 20, 1978, celebrating their 41st wedding anniversary last year.

Pastor Jim was the founding pastor of the former Carpenter's Community Church, Nazareth for 17 years before retiring in 2008. Prior to, he was the pastor at Calvary Baptist Church, Natrona Heights, PA and Assistant Pastor at First Baptist Church, Patchoque, NY. He graduated from Patchoque Medford HS and the former Philadelphia College of Bible. He also attended Western Seminary, Portland, OR.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Thomas M. Grimes of Los Angeles, CA, daughters, Carrie A. wife of Stephen Inge of Ardmore, PA and Stacy K. Grimes of Philadelphia, sister, Mrs. Nina Vetter of Medford, NY, grandchildren, Vaiden and Lila. Many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services at Life Church, 4609 Newburg Road, Nazareth, PA 18064, will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Doors will open at 9:30 AM with services starting at 10:00 AM., Bartholomew-Schisler F.H. 211 E. Center St., Nazareth, PA. 18064 is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Faith Family Fellowship Church c/o the funeral home.
