Paul Bahnick, 92 of Northampton, died on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, PA. Born October 20, 1925 in Northampton, PA, he was the son of the late Hnat Ignatz Bahniuk and the late Mary (Lysek) Bahniuk. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Correll) Bahnick with whom he celebrated 69 years of marriage in October 2017.
Paul was a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker for Imperial Realty in Bath for 8 years before retiring in 1990. Prior to that he was employed by Portland Cement Plant/Universal Atlas Cement in Northampton for 32 years where he worked as a burner man, packer and truck driver until its closing. He also was the co-owner of Bahnick Builders for 49 years. He served in the Navy from 1943-1946 and was a Veteran of World War II. Paul was a member of VFW Post 4714, a member of the American Legion and a life member of the First Ward Fire Co in Northampton. He was an honorary coach of the Nittany Lion Club and a huge Penn State fan. He was an avid RVer and traveled the nation and visited every state and it's capital with his wife Ethel. He enjoyed hunting in Potter County. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife are sons, Paul Bahnick Jr. & wife Karen of Vancleave, MS, Robert S. Bahnick & wife Theresa of Owensboro, KY and James E. Bahnick & wife Susan of Schnecksville, PA, brothers, John & Donald Bahnick of Northampton, PA, grandchildren, Melissa wife of Scott Cook, Kristen Bahnick wife of Cody Fenstermaker, Dominic Rossi & wife Elizabeth, Alec, Kendyl, Raychel, Abigale, Matthew, Andrew, Jessica Bahnick, great grandchildren, Carly & Kinsey. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Steve, Nicholas, Walter, & Joseph and 2 sisters, Anna & Katherine.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 19th & Main Streets Northampton, PA. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Northampton. Arrangements are under the care of Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave, Northampton, PA 18067.
