Paul D. Scitney, Sr., 71, of White Street, Bowmanstown, died early Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Weatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly, Pennsylvania. Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late Rudy Scitney, and Mrs. Dorothy (Hinger) Scitney of West Bowmans.
Paul was self employed concrete finisher for over 40 years, retiring in 2003. A US Navy Veteran, Vietnam Era, serving as aircraft mechanic with Patrol Squadron FIVE, USNAS, Jax, FL, achieving rank of AA(E-2). He was a member of the American Legion, Oplinger-Hower Post, Walnutport, and the VFW, Palmerton Post. Paul was a life member of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club.
Survivors: longtime companion, Ms. Dorothy A. Smale with whom he resided. Daughter, Deanna Deibert of Parryville. Son, Paul D., Jr. and wife Gayle of Parryville. Granddaughter, Hailey. Sister, Jane wife of William McFarland of West Bowmans. Brother, Steve and wife Darlene of Manning, South Carolina. Nieces and nephews.
