Peter J. Daniels, 86, of Ashley Lane, Lehighton, East Penn Township, died Tuesday morning, April 26, 2016, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton Campus. He was the husband of Margaret E. (Ward) Daniels since February 29, 1992. Born in Passaic, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Ann (Hontivich) Daniels.
Peter was employed as a driver for the former Oneida Trucking Company, Carlstadt, New Jersey, for over 30 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member and volunteer worker at Ben Salem United Church of Christ, Lehighton. An avid bowler, he belonged to senior leagues at Haja Lanes, Palmerton. Peter enjoyed the Carbon County Olympics, and participated in the Horseshoe competition.
Survivors: Wife, Margaret. Daughters, Lisa wife of Roger Kopeck of Wallington, New Jersey, Carol wife of Angelo Zotos of Bound Brook, New Jersey, Barbara Taylor of Waldwick, New Jersey. Sons, Peter and wife Paula Taylor of Minerva, New York, Donald and wife Lynn Taylor of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. 12 Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Peggy Shimaka.
Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Fairview Street, Lehighton, Pennsylvania 18235. Call, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 and 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home. Private Interment.
