Preston W. Moritz , beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed community member, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024. Born on June 21, 1939, to the late Margaret Bretz Moritz and Preston J. Moritz, Preston lived a life marked by dedication, love, and service.

Preston is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Nadine F. Moritz. Together, they built a loving family, including their four children: Nadia Gold-Moritz (spouse: Gary Gold-Moritz, children: Sasha and Elijah), Jennifer Moritz (spouse: Nicholas Piscitello, child: Ethan), Preston T. Moritz (spouse: Sue Moritz, children: Sydney and Finn), and Joshua Moritz (spouse: Melissa Moritz, child: Xavier).

Preston graduated as valedictorian and Athlete of the Year from Catasauqua High School in 1957. His talent on the football field earned him a place at the United States Coast Guard Academy, where he played under coach Otto Graham. Preston later completed his education at Moravian College, earning a BA in 1963, followed by a JD from Dickinson School of Law in 1966.

A pillar of the Nazareth community, Preston practiced law for over 35 years as a partner at Peters, Moritz, Pieschl, and Zulick. He served as the Nazareth School District solicitor for more than 20 years and also served a term as Northampton County Solicitor. For many years he served as counsel for the Nazareth Mutual Insurance Company.

Preston's passion for football continued throughout his life. He dedicated over 25 years to coaching the East Lawn Clippers Little League football team, and served as president of the Lehigh Valley Football All-Star Classic for over a decade. He was honored as one of the four original inductees into the Lehigh Valley Classic Hall of Fame.

A man of deep intellectual curiosity, Preston had a passion for U.S. history, especially mid-19th century American history. He shared this love with his family, taking them on many trips to Civil War battlefields and historic sites, instilling in his children a deep appreciation for history, travel and family.

Preston was also a devoted pet owner, and he will be joining his beloved dog, Rastah, in heaven.
