Ralph A. Eckhart, Jr.

Ralph A. Eckhart, Jr., 92, of Northampton-Allen Township, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at his home.  Born March 16, 1927 in Towamensing, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph A. Eckhart, Sr. and the late Ruth (French) Kincaid.  He was the husband of Janet (Feidler) Eckhart with whom he shared 38 years of marriage this past June 28, 2018.

Ralph was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. as an electric furnace operator for 43 years before retiring in 1992.  He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kreidersville.  He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Greenleaf Lodge No. 561 F & A M.  Ralph served his country honorably as a Seaman Second Class in the United States Navy.

Surviving along with his wife are son, William D. Eckhart and wife Glenda of Lehighton, PA, step-daughter, Terri, wife of Michael Begany, Jr. of Allentown, PA, sisters, Joyce Madouse of Easton, PA and Evelyn Kurtz of Bethlehem, PA, half-brother, Theodore Kincaid and wife Geraldine, 6 grandchildren, Susanne, Michael III, Tiffanie, Amanda, Gina and Will.  He was predeceased by son, Ralph A. Eckhart, III in 1998 and his 1st wife, Ruth M. (Lawrence) Eckhart in 1976 and 6 brothers, Willard, Charles, Francis, Ernest, Dickie and Butch.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Schisler Funeral Home, located at 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Bethlehem Memorial Park, Bethlehem Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital both c/o the funeral home.
