Reinhold "Ray" Guignet, 90 of Walnutport, PA peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Parkland Manor in Allentown, PA. Born on January 11, 1934 in Allentown, PA, he was the son of the late Paul C. Guignet and the late Eunice V. (Dudding) Guignet. He was the husband of Patricia (Transue) Guignet with whom he shared 61 years of marriage on August 17, 2024.
He was a graduate of William Allen High School and then enlisted in the Army. After the Army he owned a small grocery store and an apartment building. He was the owner of Guignet's Floral and Garden Shoppe for 52.5 years with his wife.
Reinhold enjoyed growing plants, playing pool, throwing darts, building things and dancing the polka and jitterbug. Reinhold was an active member and former president of the Lehigh Valley Florist Association for several years. He was also an active member of the Queenship of Mary Church in Northampton, PA where he enjoyed planting the flowers in from of the church. Reinhold will be missed for his sense of humor and strong work ethic.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter, Patrice A. Arnold and partner Randy Altemose of Mt. Pocono, son Rodney S. Guignet and Fiancé Patricia Logenhagen of Port Charlotte, FL and daughter Pamela R. Guignet and Fiance, Brant Nougle of Palmerton, PA; Grandchildren: Megan, Andrew, Ashleigh, Kayla, Nicholas, Alyssa, Stephen, Austin, and Nathan, 5 great -grandchildren and brother, John and wife Elsie Guignet . He was predeceased by his parents, sisters; Betty Wogan and Alta Guignet and brother, Paul Guignet.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Queenship of Mary Church located at 1324 Newport Avenue, Northampton, Pennsylvania 18067 with Rev. Patrick Lamb officiating. Interment will be in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
The family will receive friends and family from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st, 2024 and Friday 9:30-10:30 a.m., at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc. 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, Pennsylvania. Memorial contribution may be made in his memory to Queenship of Mary R.C. Church memorial fund care of funeral home.
