Richard W. Dietrich

Richard W. Dietrich , 82, of Nick Lane, Lehighton, East Penn Township, Pennsylvania, died early Tuesday morning, October 19, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Lehighton Campus.  He was the husband of Maureen J. McCoog since April 15, 1993.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harold J., Sr. and Anna Mae (Howlett) Dietrich.

Richard was employed as general manager/production director for various newspapers including the former Globe Times, Bethlehem; Watertown Daily Times, Watertown, NY; Dixie Web Printing, LA; and the Port Arthur News, Port Arthur, TX, retiring in 2005.  He served as East Penn Township Zoning Officer for several years.  An avid baseball fan, he played for many years, coached, and umpired both little league and at the collegiate level.  Richard enjoyed HO Gauge Model Railroading, and was a 1957 graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem.

Survivors: Wife.  Daughters, Vanceen wife of Craig Langkamer of Reading, and Audrey wife of Richard Becker of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Son, Eric and wife Cynthia Schneider of Bethlehem.  4 grandchildren, Hollie, Tyler, Hailee, and Kayla.  Sisters, Maryann DeVine of Emmaus, and Grace Blair of NJ.  6 Nephews.  He was predeceased by brother, Harold, J., Jr.
