Richard Lee George

Richard Lee George, 76, of Interchange Road, Forest Inn, Towamensing Twp, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022, at Mahoning Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Lehighton. He was the husband of Donna M. (Bartholomew) George since Dec 10, 2005. Born in Kresgeville, Monroe County, he was a son of the late Marvin, Sr. and Pauline (Hawk) George.

Richard was employed by the former Horsehead Industries Corp., formerly NJ Zinc Co., Palmerton as a bagger, furnace operator, and supervisor for over 43 years. He attended Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville. Richard was a 1943 graduate of the Palmerton High School.

Survivors: wife. daughters, Rebecca Steigerwalt, Holly Steigerwalt, both of Packerton, Alice wife of Charles Riley of Slatington. 2 grandchildren, Logan and Lexi. brother, Marvin, Jr. of Palmerton. He was predeceased by sister, Shirley George, and brother, Delbert.
