Richard Dee "Dick" Hartman , 85 of Lemon Grove, CA, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Paradise Valley Hospital, National City, CA with family by side. Born December 9, 1938 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was the son of the late William W. Hartman and the late Betty R. (Brandon) Hartman. He was the husband of the late JoAnn (Schisler) Hartman who passed away August 7, 2021.

After graduating high school, and taking some college courses, he joined the Army and served his country as a Private 1st Class from 1961 until 1964.  He was last employed as a bus driver for the Grossmont Union High School District, La Mesa, CA for 10 years before retiring in 2012. Prior to, he was a salesman for Don Green Auto Parts and Accessories, Fullerton, CA for 21 years. Dick was a long time member of the Lemon Grove Lutheran Church, Lemon Grove, CA; He enjoyed working on classic and antique cars, and was a former member of the Over the Hill Gang of San Diego, CA Street Rod Club.

Surviving are sons, John D. Hartman and wife Bushra of Spring Valley, CA and James L. Hartman and wife Rita of Klecknersville, PA, daughters, Dawn M. w/o Larry Otis of Imperial, MO and Juliette K. w/o Todd Theriac of Chula Vista, CA; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and a  great-great grandson. He was predeceased by two grandsons, Adam and Chance.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday June 25, 2024 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Brett I. Jenkins officiating. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment with Military Honors, will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
