Richard M. Horinko

Richard M. Horinko, 89, of Hickory Road, Palmerton, Towamensing Township, PA, died early Friday morning, April 10, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.  He was the husband of Vinita F. (Brunson) Horinko since December 29 1961.  Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Michael and Sophia (Sarnicke) Horinko.

Richard was employed by the former NJ Zinc Co., East Plant, Palmerton, retiring from the data processing department.  Previously, he worked in the engineering department and acid plant, for many years.  A 1954 graduate of the Palmerton High School, he continued his education at the University of Texas, Arlington.  Richard then served in the Air Force, Peacetime, achieving the rank of A/1C.  After his time in the service, he was employed by LTV-Aerospace, Texas, as a liaison in the engineering department.  Richard enjoyed woodworking, and projects around the house.  He volunteered as a board member of the Palmerton Area Historical Society.

Survivors: Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Susan M., wife of Joseph Nigito of Oakboro, NC.  Son, Mark A. Horinko, and wife, Danielle M. Matthews, of Charlotte, NC.  Grandchildren, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Allison, Steven, Joey, Joanna, Jonathan, and Nicholas.  10 great-grandchildren. Sister, Patricia Ronk of Bethlehem.  Brother, Charles of Palmerton. He was predeceased by brother, John Vayshuk.

Services:  Memorial Services with Military Honors, 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home.  The Interment will be private.  Online Condolences may be left for the family at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
