Richard A. Kern

Richard A. Kern, Sr. , 80, of Sam Brooke Circle, Lehighton, East Penn Township, PA, died peacefully early Monday morning, July 3, 2023, in his home.  He was the husband of Melanie L. (Lavenburg) Kern since October 15, 1998.  Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Kenneth K. and Ruth (Ketterer) Kern.

Richard was employed in the Title Department and parts delivery of M and R Motors, Berlinsville, for many years.  A 1960 graduate of the Northampton High School, he later served in the Army, Vietnam Era, achieving rank of SP5 E-5.  Over the years, Richard enjoyed the relaxation of camping.

Survivors : Wife.  Sons, Thomas Kern of Danielsville, Pat and wife Kris Bealer of Lehighton, and Jason Tully of FL.  4 grandchildren, Zachary, Dylan, Derek, and Jordyn.  He was predeceased by son, Richard A., Jr., and brothers, Kermit, and David.
