Richard A. Mohr, 64, of Allentown, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William G. Mohr and Gloria E. (Kanusky) Mohr, both of Allentown. He was the loving husband of Donna L. (Schwartz) Mohr, with whom he celebrated 43 years of marriage in September.
Richard was last employed as the transportation supervisor at KidsPeace, Allentown for over 25 years until retiring this year. Prior to KidsPeace, Richard owned and operated Richard Mohr Construction for many years. Previously, he worked at the former Lehigh Valley Dairy. Richard was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church, Northampton, as well as life member of the Coplay Saengerbund, where he was a long-time member of their Thursday Night Men's Bowling League. During the years his two sons were in school, he was an avid follower of their swimming accomplishments and volunteered for the Northampton High School swim team. In his earlier years, Richard was an active Boy Scout, earning the Order of the Arrow Award. He had a love for golfing, bowling, classic cars, and most importantly, his family.
Survivors: Surviving along with his wife, Donna, and mother, Gloria, are sons Chad A. Mohr and wife Danielle of East Fallowfield, PA and Travis A. Mohr and wife S. Alexis of Campbell Hall, NY; brother, Donald Mohr and wife Karen of Walnutport, PA; sister, Jean Mohr of Allentown, PA; and grandchildren Jacob, Gavin, Kelsie, and Emily.
Services: Funeral service to be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067, with the Rev. Todd Fennel officiating. The family invites family and friends to call between 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2018, both at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow at Zion Stone UCC Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's U.C.C. Church Memorial Fund, C/O the funeral home.
