Robert E. "Ben" Proctor

Robert E. "Ben" Proctor, 87 of Hanover, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Restore Healthcare in Shippensburg, PA. Born April 2, 1935 in Coplay, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph F. Proctor and Hazel M. (Bates) Proctor. He was the husband of Barbara M. (Oswald)Proctor with whom he shared 60 years of marriage last May 6, 2021.

Robert worked for LaFarge Cement Co., Whitehall, PA in the Unloading Station in the quarry for 29 years before retiring in 1997. Before moving from the Lehigh Valley, Robert was a longtime member and Deacon of Grace U.C.C. Church, Northampton, PA. He also held life membership at the Fullerton Fire Co., Whitehall, PA. He served his country in the Army Reserves during the 1950's.

Surviving along with his wife are daughter, Robin A. wife of James Culp of Hanover, PA., canine companion Snickers, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Buffy Proctor in 1970 and two sisters, Annabelle Ure, and Betty Lou Wagner.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday May 5, 2022 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Michael J. McGowan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Coplay Cemetery, Coplay, PA.
