Robert "Bobby" Bottcher, Jr ., 85, of Lehighton, E. Penn Twp., died suddenly and peacefully early Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024, at The Palmerton Personal Care Home, Carbon County. He was the husband of Mrs. Linda N. (Ashner) Bottcher since February 25, 1961. Born in Manhattan, NY, he was a son of the late Robert, Sr., and Helen M. (Angelovich) Bottcher.
Robert was employed as a service engineer for Mack Trucks Corp., Allentown, and Macungie Plants for over 23 years retiring in 2001. He was a member of Faith Alive United Methodist Church, Palmerton. A 1957 graduate of the Lehighton High School, he later served in the PA Army National Guard, Berlin Crisis, in Louisiana, achieving the rank of PVT (E-2). A well known race car driver, Robert "Bobby" Bottcher was inducted into the Modified Dirt Racing Hall of Fame after 26 years of participation throughout the Northeast United States Circuit.
Survivors: Wife. Daughter, Robin L. Bottcher of Cape Coral, FL. Son, Steven R. and wife Donna of Lehighton. Granddaughters, Stevianne, and Christi. Brother, Richard S. and wife Linda of Palmerton. Brother-in-law, Greg Whiteman of E. Penn Twp. Nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Roberta.
Services: Memorial Services, 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2024, Faith Alive UMC, PO Box 177, 678 Pine Street, Palmerton, PA 18071. Call, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday in the church.
