Robert E. Samsel

Robert E. Samsel , 72 of Wapwallopen, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Born July 17, 1951 in Doylestown, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence Samsel and the late Elizabeth (Billings) Samsel.

Robert was a graduate of Pennsbury High School, class of 1969. Afterwards he started his career as a Truck Driver for Bath Transport. A few years later he made the switch to Savage Trucking, where he continued his driving career for 12 more years. Robert and Marie, then moved from the Palmerton Area to the Poconos to the Council Cup Campground, and he worked as the manager of grounds of the campground. In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his time hunting and fishing. Robert also loved to frequent his local clubs / VFW and enjoyed having a beverage.

Survivors: companion Marie L. Samsel, children, Jessica Nicol and husband Duane of Morrisville, PA, and Richard Samsel and wife Emily of Yardley, PA, step-children Stacey Trexler and husband Daniel of Emmaus, PA and Nathan Doll and wife Stephanie of Emmaus, PA, 2 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 4 step-greatgrandchildren, sister, Helen Curtin, niece, and nephews.

Services are private and at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life is to be announced in the future. Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton PA, has been entrusted with his care.
