Robert V. Wagner,
83 of Northampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 25, 2017. Born September 28, 1933 in Northampton, he was the son of the late Victor and Lillian (Beers) Wagner. He was the husband of Betty L. (Yanders) Wagner, with whom he shared 61years of marriage this past March 31, 2017.
A graduate of Northampton High School he went on to work for the United States Post Office, Northampton Branch as a Postal Carrier for 29 years before retiring in 1995. After retiring from the Post Office he worked part time as a courier for the Northampton Branch of PNC Bank for 5 years. Robert was a life member of the 1st Ward Fire Co., Northampton, PA; He was a former member of the Dart Leagues for both the Catholic War Veterans and Lappawinzo Fish & Game Assoc. both of Northampton; He played Fast Pitch Softball for the Lehigh Valley League for many years. Robert was a avid fan of Football, Basketball, but his greatest passion was enjoying his grandchildren and never missing one of there many activities. He served his country as a SP4 in the U.S. Army from 1956 until 1962.
Survivors: Surviving along with his wife Betty, are sons, Robert A. Wagner of Bethlehem, PA and Kevin D. Wagner and wife Theresa of Northampton, PA; 3 Grandchildren; Allison Wagner, Tricia wife of Daniel Salabsky, and Ryan Wagner, 1 Great-Granddaughter, Brynn Salabsky. He was predeceased by brothers, Albert and Russell, sisters, Arlene Kiefer, and Doris Rabenhold.
Services: A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to the services. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
