Roberta Helen Kilian , 85, of Cary, NC died on November 11, 2024, at home under the care of hospice. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on January 3, 1939, daughter of the late Charles and Bertha Arndt.

She attended Teaneck High School in Teaneck, NJ and worked for a securities firm in Jersey City, NJ. A fulltime homemaker, she was active in local politics in NJ serving as a Committeewoman with a particular interest in helping special needs children. Roberta was a Cub Scout den mother, band parent organization Executive Board vice president and treasurer, elementary school class mother, and Sunday School teacher.

Roberta married Thomas A. Kilian, Sr. on June 6, 1959, and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year. They enjoyed doing everything together, especially attending church events and fellowship groups. She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret of IN, Charles of PA, Ruth of NJ and Lenny of NY, and half-sisters Ethel and Hilda.

Roberta is survived by her spouse, Tom and her two daughters Roberta Robin (Richard) Nicorvo of Alexandria, VA, Tracy Ann Jayne of Clayton, NC and son, Thomas (Sandie) Kilian, Jr. of Chatham, VA; grandchildren Richard Brent (Kristy) Nicorvo of Longview, TX, Daniel (Karina) Nicorvo of Boca Raton, FL, Kelsie (Clinton) Long of Wendell, NC, Kerriann Jayne of Raleigh, NC, Thomas Kilian III of Chatham, VA, Helen Kilian of Chatham, VA; and two greatgrandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 12:00pm at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615 with a service at 1:00pm. A second viewing open to the public will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home, 137 Fairview Street Lehighton, PA 18235 at 1:00pm with a public graveside service following the viewing at Union Hill Cemetery, 140 Union Hill Road Lehighton, PA 18235.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Roberta to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, www.T2T.org <http://www.T2T.org>. The family is especially grateful to Gentiva Hospice of Cary and the caretakers who attended to her allowing her to spend her final days in her home of 43 years. And a special thank you to Certified Nursing Assistant Victory O. who was with Roberta until her passing.
