Ronald J. Bauer, Sr., 78, of Blue Mountain Drive, Danielsville, Lehigh Township, PA, died Thursday afternoon, February 1, 2024, at Bethlehem North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Carrie A. (Smith) Bauer since June 10, 1966. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Franklin and Margaret (Rex) Bauer.
Ronald was employed by the former Bethlehem Steel Corp., as a blast furnace operator for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed dirt track stock car racing, at Dorneyville, Nazareth, and Mahoning Speedways, his HO Model trains and putz's, actual models, caring for his aquarium, and the occasional donut.
Survivors: Wife. Daughter, Yvette Green and fiance, David, of Summit Hill. Son, Ronald J., Jr. and wife Jennifer of Walnutport. 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Grace, and Rachel. 6 nieces. He was predeceased by sister, Shirley Bickert, and a brother William "Billy".
