Ronald E. Smacchi,
78 of Northampton- Lehigh Township, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at his residence. Born March 2, 1939 in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Sante and Silia (Giusepponi) Smacchi. He was the husband of Charlene A. (Schmidt) Smacchi with whom he shared 24 years of marriage this May 28, 2017.
Ronald was a graduate of Kings College, Scranton, PA earning a Bachelors degree in Social Psychology and then joined the Alliance Insurance Co., Bethlehem, PA. later becoming the Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Co. as a Litigation Manager for 33 years before retiring in 1998. Ron was a member of the Pittston Vol. Fire Co. and he enjoyed making wine.
Survivors: Surviving along with his wife Charlene are daughter, Danielle M. wife of Michael Bulzoni of Duryea, PA; son, David S. Smacchi and wife Nancy of Shavertown, PA, 3 grandchildren: Giovianna, Macelia, and Dominic.
Services: Services will be Private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Miller Funeral Home, Lehighton, PA.
