Rev. Roy H. Koehler, Jr.

Rev. Roy H. Koehler, Jr., 79 of Walnutport, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Care in Allentown, PA., Born August 10, 1942 in Kreidersville, PA, he was the son of the late Roy H. Koehler, Sr. and the late Pauline (Petko) Koehler. He was the husband of Roseann (Zimmerman) Koehler with whom he shared 48 years of marriage this past October 13, 2021.

Rev. Koehler graduated from Coplay High School and continued his education earning a Bachelors Degree in Social Services from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. In 1978, he earned his Masters Degree in Divinity from Gettysburg Seminary. He was clergy for several churches before becoming Pastor for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mertztown, PA for 12 years before retiring in 2005. He then took an interim pastoral position with Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford, PA. since 2010 to present. Rev. Koehler served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Surviving along with his wife Roseann are daughters, Andrea R. Koehler and Amy R. wife of Louis Weiner, sons, Ryan N. Koehler and Lee M. Koehler and wife Raquel, grandchildren; Kyle whom he raised, Jacob, Charlotte, Danielle, Dante, and Sabrina, sisters, Laura Carney and Beverly wife of Alex Lubenesky, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Caroline Gardner and a nephew John.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 E. Abbott Street Lansford, PA 18232 with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 and Wed. January 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Church. Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, Kreidersville-Northampton, PA.
