Russell E. Scheirer

Russell E. Scheirer, 96 of Whitehall, PA. died on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, PA. Born April 15, 1925 in Whitehall, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel Scheirer and the late Lucy (Dunbar) Scheirer. Russell was last employed by the Former Fuller Co., Catasauqua, PA. as a Technician in research and development for 25 years before retiring in 1987. Russell was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Porter Lodge #284, Catasauqua, PA. He was also a 32 Degree Mason with Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown. Russell was a member of the American Legion Post #739 Hokendauqua, PA. He also was a member and enjoyed being part of the Schnecksville Senior Center. Russell served his country as a PFC in the US Army during WWII earning a Silver Star, Eastern Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and a WWII Victory Medal.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donna J. Dargis of Fort Lauderdale, FL, 2 sons, Wilson P. Scheirer and wife Rita of Whitehall, PA and Wayne R. Scheirer of Catasauqua, PA, sister, Jessie wife of William Schrader of Slatedale, PA; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

A Private graveside service with honors will be held at St. John's Union Cemetery, Whitehall, PA., 18052. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA. 18067 is in charge of his arrangements.
