Ruth J. Beer

Ruth J. Beer, 92, formerly of Trachsville, Towamensing Township, Pennsylvania, died Monday evening, February 19, 2018, in The Williamsport Home, Lycoming County.  She was the wife of the late Charles R. Beer who passed in 2011.  Born in Yonkers, New York, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence (Graff) James.

Ruth was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Kresge Nursing Home, Gilbert, for over 25 years, until retirement.  She was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trachsville, where she taught Sunday School, volunteered assisting with church events, and fundraisers.  She was a member of the W.E.L.C.A.  Ruth was a 19053 graduate of the Charles E. Sorton High School, Yonkers, New York, and a 1946 graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, New York City, New York.  She was an avid bowler and longtime league member at Haja Lanes, Palmerton.

Survivors: Daughters, Colleen wife of Dennis Keefe of Northern Cambria, Catherine Foster of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Margaret Schneider of Williamsport, Marylou Montes of Northampton.  Daughter-in-law, Carol Beer of Northampton.  11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by son, Carl Beer, and a granddaughter, Alexandria Seitzinger.

Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church - Trachsville, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Call, 12:00NOON - 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the church.  Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery, Towamensing Township.  Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.  Online Condolences may be left at: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com
