Ruth L. Schaffer
, 89 of Northampton, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. Born November 20, 1927 in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Clara (Fehr) Granda and wife of the late Charles Roth and the late Clayton J. Schaffer.
She drove a bus for Leibensperger Bus Company for many years before retiring in 1982. Ruth was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Northampton, where she was a member of the church quilting group. She was also a member of the Laurel Fire Company, Ladies Aux.
Survivors: Surviving are sister, Evelyn wife of Russell Frey of Wind Gap, step-daughter Crystal wife of Mike Haluka of Allentown, twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, Larry Roth, daughters, Carol Ann Coken and Louise Liebensberger, step-son Terry Schaffer, five brothers and one sister.
Services: A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 8142 Valley View Road Northampton. There will be no calling hours.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or Northampton VFW, both in care of the Schisler Funeral Home, Inc., 2119 Washington Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.
