Salvador "Sal" Rios, Sr., 90, of Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, PA, died Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of Epifania E. (Rios) Rios, who passed in 2020. Born in Labarca, Jalisco, Mexico, he was a son of the late Modesto Rios Rojo and Maria de los Angeles Valle Osegeda.
Sal was employed as a utility worker for the General Motors Corp., Linden, NJ, for over 30 years retiring in 1991. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Sal served honorably in the Mexican Army. He enjoyed walking, and gardening.
Survivors: Daughter, Maria S. wife of Randy Smith of Bowmanstown. Sons, Ricardo and wife Nancy S., and Salvador, Jr., all of Palmerton. 5 grandchildren, Miranda, Justina, Chad, Trisha, and Shawn. 5 step-grandchildren, Amanda Rider, Jenny Rider, Lance Rider, Rodney Rider, and Christopher Rider. 7 great-grandchildren. 1 great-great-grandson. Sister, Amelia, wife of Jesus "Chewie" Nunez of Mexico. Numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, and 4 brothers.
