Samuel R. Rocco

Samuel R. Rocco, 72 formerly of Garwood, NJ passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at his residence in Northampton, PA.  Born August 29, 1947 in Rahway, NJ, he was the son of the late Modestino and Mary (Woodruff) Rocco. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Hurajt) Rocco with whom he shared 45 years of marriage before her death in 2018.

Samuel was a devout Roman Catholic and was a parishioner at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Northampton, PA, St. Joseph the Carpenter, Roselle, NJ, and St. Anne's Garwood, NJ.  Samuel honorably served his country in the United States Army. After his service, he was a lifelong member of the American Legion. He was also member of the local VFW and Knights of Columbus chapters. Samuel worked for the United States Postal Service for over 40 years as a letter carrier.

Surviving are sons, Anthony M. Rocco of Northampton, PA and Samuel R. Rocco, Jr. and wife Jen of Edison, NJ, sisters, Ida and Lisa, 11 grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Samuel was predeceased by son, David J. Rocco.

A memorial Mass will be held on a future date at the family's convenience. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
