Sandra A. Engle

Sandra A. (Arner) Engle , 83, of Forge Street, Bowmanstown, PA, died peacefully Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024, at Greenwood Center, Hometown, she was the wife of Larry Engle since October 19, 1957.  Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Alice (Shupp) Arner.

Sandra was employed as a seamstress by various garment mills in the Palmerton area for over 20 years, retiring in 1990.  She also worked for McDonald's, Lehighton, after retiring.  Previously, she worked for the former W.T. Grant Dept. Store, Palmerton.  Sandra was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bowmanstown, where she also participated in the quilting group, along with the quilting group at Dinkey Memorial Church, Ashfield.  In her earlier years, she volunteered as Den Mother for a Bowmanstown Cub Pack.

Survivors: Husband.  Daughters, Holly wife of Russel George of Macungie, Wendy wife of Randal Buffington of Lebanon, and Kristy wife of Jesse Houston of Bethlehem.  Sons, Ricky and wife Linda of Coral Springs, FL, and Randy and wife Sharon of Lehighton.  7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.  Brothers, John and wife Karen of SC, Charles "Chump", Jr. and wife Brenda, and Larry and wife Susan, all of Palmerton.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley, a half-sister, Jeanette Lucille Arner, and brothers, Lee, and Alfred.

Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Trinity Lutheran Church, 500 Ore Street, Bowmanstown, PA 18030.  Call, 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday in the church.  Interment, Church Cemetery, Fireline Road, Bowmanstown.  Arrangements, Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton.  Online Condolences: www.schislerfuneralhomes.com .
