Sarah (Sally) N. Oplinger

Sarah (Sally) N. Oplinger , 84 of Northampton, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton, PA. Born July 31, 1940 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Robert Oplinger and the late Ethel (Oberholtzer) Oplinger.

Sally graduated from Northampton High School, Class of 1958.  She then went on to obtain her Nursing Degree from Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Sally worked as a Nurse at Allentown General Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 2002. Even after retiring, she continued to volunteer at the hospital in the ER, and Hospice center for many years, and even drove visually disabled patients to their appointments. She enjoyed bowling league in her younger days.

Survivors: brother, John Oplinger and wife Helene of Bath, PA, sister in law Linda Oplinger of Bethlehem, PA, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert "Butch" Oplinger, and George Oplinger, and sister, Jane Kistler.

Services: The family has requested services to be private, Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton  PA, has been entrusted with her care.
