Sheila A. Green

Sheila A. Green, 73, formerly of Mauch Chunk Road, Palmerton, died Saturday evening, February 4, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Hilbert C. Green and the late Anna L. (Hartman) Halada.
Sheila was employed as food service manager for the Blue Mountain Ski Area, Palmerton, for 29 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member and former council member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bowmanstown. Sheila was also a former member and officer of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club. The children and family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff of the Mahoning Valley Nursing Home for their care and concern of her.
Survivors: Daughter, Sharon wife of Blaise Anzalone of California. Sons, Robert, Jr. and wife Sheryl Merkel of Forest Inn, Dennis W. and wife Penny Merkel of Towamensing Township, Matthew C. Merkel of Palmerton. 4 grandchildren, Jason, Robert III, Trese, and Nicholas. Great-granddaughter, Alexis. Sisters, Teresa Trudich of Coaldale, Pamela wife of William Gothard of Forest Inn, Kelly wife of Roger Holtzer of Lehighton. Sister-in-law, Wendy Green of Lehighton. Brothers, Guy and wife Brenda Green of Lehighton, Peter and wife Jill Halada of Palmerton, Tom and wife Betty Shellhammer of Long Pond. Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Hilbert Green.
Services: Graveside Services, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Towamensing Cemetery, 3rd Street and Fireline Road, Palmerton, PA 18071. Arrangements are by Campton Funeral Home, Inc., 525 Delaware Avenue, Palmerton, PA 18071.
