Shirley E. Miller

Shirley E. Miller , 87 of Walnutport, PA, passed away peacefully Friday, January 19, 2024, at her son Jeffrey's Home in Lehighton, PA. Born June 14, 1936 in Northampton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold Tacker and the late Mabel (Buss) Tacker. She was the wife of the late Paul Miller who passed in 2005, the late Robert Donchez who passed in 1995, and the late Woodrow E. Hower, Sr. who passed in 1987.

Shirley was last employed as the sample person for the former Parris Necktie, Inc., Walnutport, PA for 10 years before retiring in 1985. She was a long time member of the Egypt Community Church, Whitehall, PA were she served as a Deacon, Usher, and volunteer worker.  Shirley also offered a lot of volunteer time for both St. John's U.C.C. Church and Slatington Baptist Church both in Slatington, PA.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen F. McMullen of Glenmoore, PA, son, Jeffrey L. Hower of Lehighton, PA, 6 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren, 3 daughter-in-laws, Patricia, Jennie, and Louise. She was predeceased by her son, Woodrow E. Hower, Jr. in 2012, a grandson Timothy Hower 1993.

A Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday January 26, 2024 at Egypt Community Church, 4129 S. Church Street Whitehall, PA 18052. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service in the church.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067, has been entrusted with her care and service.
