Shirley F. Newhard

Shirley F. Newhard , 90 of Macungie, PA, formerly of Allentown, PA passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center in Macungie, PA. Born May 28, 1934 in Greenawalds, S. Whitehall, Twsp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter H. Diehl and the late Beulah C. (Snyder) Diehl. She was the wife of the late Rodney R. Newhard who passed away in March 1996.

Shirley was a High School graduate who was last employed in the interior proofing dept. for the Former Merchants Bank, Allentown. for 5 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown, PA. Shirley served her country as an Airman 2nd Class in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

She is survived by her son, Rodney H. Newhard of Macungie, PA, brother, Walter Diehl (Pam) of Erie, PA, sister, June Johnson of Kentucky and a grandson Geddy in PA.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday March 26, 2025 at Schisler Funeral Home, 2119 Washington Ave. Northampton, PA 18067 with the Rev. Cynthia Rader Geyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in Allen Union Cemetery, Northampton, PA.
