Shirley M. Truman

Shirley M. Truman, 89 of Allentown, Pa. formerly of Nazareth, PA. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Heather Glen Senior Living in Allentown. Born September 19, 1931 in Bath - Moorestown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Umstead Sr. and the late Beulah (Schmeltzle) Umstead. She was the wife of the late James F. Truman who passed away in 1994.

Shirley was last employed as the office manager for Brown - Daub Chevrolet, former Solt Chevrolet, Nazareth for over 40 years until retiring in the early 90's. She was a life long member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth, PA., where she formerly served as a youth group Leader, and Sunday School Teacher. She assisted with the registration table for the Church's Annual golf outing. Shirley also served on the Board and worked for St. John's Evan. Luth. Ch. Day Care Program.

She is survived by brothers, Richard Umstead and wife Kathryn of Allentown, PA and John Umstead of Bethlehem, PA., along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Urial Schmeltzle, and Charles Umstead, Jr.

A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday April 13, 2021at Nazareth Borough Park Pavilion, N. Broad Street, Nazareth, PA. 18064, with the Rev. Scott Hall officiating. Family and friends may call from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center St. Nazareth, PA 18064. and Tuesday April 13, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM prior to the services in the park. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth, PA. The public is reminded to continue to observe social distancing guidelines,
including the wearing of facial coverings.
